We pleased to let you know that a new program NodEcon Pro is released! It’s a payable software. Compared to the previous version, backup and restore functions are included in NodEcon Pro. We also fix some bugs in this version.
For old version users, a new update version of NodEcon (Free version) would be released in several days. You could backup bill data and restore them in NodEcon Pro. Thanks.

There is no new function in this update version. We just did some improvements, including:

1. Improve main screen layout. There are many things on main screen, and made main screen hard to use. We removed android logo image to save more space for other controls.
2. For template funcion, we add a button named ‘Bill’. Through it, user could access template directly. Wish this could help you use template funcion well.
3. Fix reminder funcion. This feature didn’t work well from the very beginning. Now it’s OK.

In this version, a simple deposit feature was involved. Wish this feature could give you a reference when doing budget or every day expenses.

You can set initial deposit amount through “Settings -> Update Deposit Amount”. Then, after adding, updating or deleting bills, NodEcon will re-calculate deposit amount according to changes of bill amount. To viewing the deposit amount currently, select “Deposit” menu item from main menu, or press Menu Key in budget screen and select deposit menu item.

We also fixed a big bug about date when adding bills not for today. This bug exists since v1.7.0. After switching to another day (not today) and add one bill, the bill date is always today. It’s ok now, we’ve fixed it and sorry for that.

Another thing we should say is that since v1.7.4, NodEcon is under android 1.5 (cupcake) only and we don’t develop new features under android 1.1 or lower any more. We considered that most of users have already under cupcake now

We released the latest version v1.7.1 today. This version fix some bugs found in v1.7.0. The most serious one was force closing when opening through reminder (thanks BlueT, Ehab and L). We also found that many users don’t know how to add a new category. So we made some changes on hints. Wish those could guide new guys to find out about how to add a new category.

Since v1.7.0 released in May 27, 2009. NodEcon’s main screen back to classic screen. Because we considered that the new main screen in v1.6.x does not help to improve input efficiency. And the biggest improve in v1.7.0 is budget type setting. Wish this feature could satisfy most of requirements about budget. If you are still confused about budget types, please check help doc to find more details.

Android Cupcake is coming. Now, NodEcon v1.6.1 could work well under android 1.1 and cupcake (android 1.5). So, it’s time to make change! We still haven’t received cupcake yet, after we done, several screen layouts in NodEcon would be update to adapt Cupcake. Lots of features are included in Cupcake, so it’s time to make change. We released new main screen in v1.6, it look like this

New features include:

• Great new main screen, including compare of budget and expenses in current cycle. Add operations in mail list when pressing or long pressing.
• remove tag input form and add a tag text control in bill information form. So, it’s no longer open a new form to input bill’s tag text.
• A setting parameter for close budget feature. For those who don’t care budgets, you can close it. This parameter will effect main screen’s layout.
• Menu layout modify in main screen.
• Add operating in budget list and bill detail list when list item is pressed.
• Remove Category setting form; category management was merged into main screen list.

Tips:

• Default cycle in main screen is from 1st day of month to last day, other day’s bill information is not calculated and showed in main screen.
• After udpating, if you want to run NodEcon through icon in desktop, and error message would pop up and say that the software is not installed or don’t know it. Please remove the old shortcut from desktop and create a new one.

Fixed several bugs existed in v1.5.0. Improve budget feature’s ease of use, changes include:

1. Budget amount can’t input decimal.
2. Budget index error when editing.
3. generate budget records for April 2009
4. Add tip message to desc how to edit budget.
5. change budget and surplus descript position when homescreen is landscape.
6. Adding budget copy option when editing category’s initial budget.

NodEcon has already released for one month, the latest version is v1.5.0 now.

In this version, new functions were inlcuded in, there are:

• A great update for budget feature.

For budget, initial and current budget are used for each category. Monthly total budget in old version was removed. Now, we treat the sum of category budgets as monthly budget. Users can also get budget and expenses compare list in this version. Setting monthly budget cycle begin date is also possible.

• Histogram for statistic

Added an option for default statistic chart. Chart could be switched by click.

• Remove Budget red line from expenses chart

Previous version’s budget feature was not good enough, and it made expenses chart crowd. So we removed it. Users could use the new budget feature.

Since the first release there has been one month. This is an exciting period of time. Thanks for all the users for those great suggests, posted bugs, encouragement… Without you, NodEcon can’t become so good! We will provide more feature in the future, thanks.

Budget feature was added in NodEcon v1.3.0.

In this release, we provide a menu item for turning off Ads. If you don’t like Those Ad bars, just close them.

Now, you could edit recorded bill.

• Expenses average calculating.

Calculating Expenses average amount and add another line for average in line chart.
